"Guardian of the Forest: Tree of Light"
A Splendid Orchestration of Nature

Guardian of the Forest: Tree of Light by the DADA IDEA team led by the art director Lin Shuen-Long was the centerpiece of the 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival held in Taichung. In the shape of a tall tree, the work contains a giant sphere lamp symbolizing a seed, the full moon, and the rising sun. The soaring branches are decorated with vivid lights, butterflies, and a family of white-eared sibias, presenting a beautiful vision of prosperity. In the lighting ceremony of Guardian of the Forest that opened the 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival, the 22 illuminated bands and 368 flower buds represented Taiwan’s 22 municipalities, towns, and counties, while the

2,359 heart-shaped leaves represented the people in the country. The colorful and splendid masterpiece fully demonstrates  “imbuing art into the environment”, the core value of DADA IDEA.
Noteworthily, the Taiwan Lantern Festival was named as one of the events with the most spectacular night views in the world at the 2021 World Night View Summit held in Nagasaki, Japan, where the World Night View Heritage category was founded to recognize beautiful places or events with spectacular night views.
